I'm done with sfba.social and the mods who are fine with limiting my account because I call out racists for their racist words.
Turns out: my secondary drive (SATA SSD) was the culprit. It died in some fashion where it refused to be enumerated, can't boot with it attached, can't even mount it with a USB adapter. Sigh

Funky power outage over the weekend. Power stopped and then sorta came back but everything was flickering on and off so I cut the main breaker.

Power returned but my windows 11 PC now refuses to boot. Refuses to boot to recovery USB. I swear I know how to computer. So frustrated

@vruz @seb that's not what I'm saying, and you suggesting as much is the part that's racist.

I'm done pretending that it's okay to say that Israel is committing or trying to commit genocide. Warfare sucks. People die. Hamas is responsible for 100% of the deaths here and if you can't own that then you're the disgusting one.

Been thinking about the similarities between the convoy occupations and the anti-Israel occupations. In The Hub, uOttawa criminologist and Mastodon lurker Michael Kempa @michaelkempa1 writes about those parallels and warns that, "Left ungoverned, student encampments are ripe targets for exploitation and recruitment by professional agitators with bad intentions." #CdnPoli

It is likely that the Court will recognize the legitimacy of stricter limits on the nature, scope, and duration of such protests on university property, as opposed to fully public spaces.

The Hub
"Of Israeli Jews alive today, 80% were born in Israel. A majority of Israel’s Jews are not descended from Europe but rather from Arab nations, including from the parcel of land known today as modern Israel. Known as Mizrachim in Hebrew, they hail from Iraq, Iran, Morocco, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Algeria, as well as from the Asian caucus region of the former Soviet Union. "

‘Israelis, go back to Europe’? Some on the left need to rethink their slogans

A majority of Israel’s Jews today are not descended from Europe, but rather from Arab nations. To expect them to leave Israel is unprecedented, unrealistic and wrong

The Guardian

Antisemites made up a lie about a genocide being committed by Jews against Palestinians. This lie is a few decades old, but since the current war it has been spread by many people, some of them antisemites, some of them are just naive useful idiots.

This lie is now being used by antisemites to reject everything and everyone that has to do with Israel – from calling Biden „Genocide Joe“ to calling Martin Österdahl from the EBU „Genocidahl“ for not excluding Israel from the ESC.

This lie is being used by antisemites to wash their hands off antisemitism. „Greta Thunberg is not antisemitic – she’s against genocide.“

Well, my friends, there is no genocide, and this lie being used as an excuse to hate Jews is in no way different than any other conspiracy story that was used to spread hatred against Jews – from well poisoning to the stab-in-the-back myth. The genocide story is simply the blood-libel of modern times.

@MexicanYenta

So when they scream Intifada, From the River to the Sea, call for Hillel to be removed from campuses, rip off people's mezzuzahs and they throw fake blood on visibly Jewish students- that's not to be seen as antisemitic?

There's nothing antisemitic about being Pro-Palestinian. There is something deeply antisemitic about turning a blind eye to suffering of Jews and folks demanding "solidarity" about the exact protests that make Jews feel unsafe and prevent them from attending school or work.

@shekinahcancook @mybarkingdogs

Calling Jewish people “Europeans” is the biggest anti-semitic dog whistle I’ve ever heard.

Europeans spent the past 2,000 years trying to purge us from Europe. And now that most of us left Europe, we’re suddenly “European”.

Nope, you don’t get to erase history.
