Not that either option is accessible for me at this time.

Even getting a repair would not be possible for me.

Being in between jobs has just become more difficult right now.

That said, I advocate for repair instead of getting new stuff all the time.

The laptop is six years old and I've had to have the following replaced: hdd, battery, keyboard, screen.

At this point, should I keep fighting for it?

Right now, it feels like it's time to get a new one because the repair costs might be too much this time that it might not be worth it.

Well, it's official, my computer is dead.

The people at the shop said that something is shorted and they charge 4.5k for the troubleshooting. I don't think they were ripping me off because they didn't push me to get the troubleshooting. They didn't even charge me for the consult.

So, I believe them.

Head's up, Mastodon users: There appears to be a coordinated effort to impersonate relatively high-profile people who have accounts on various instances but who have not used them in a while.

I've gotten several follow notifications - and a couple of DMs - from impersonators of people I know. The bogus accounts have lots of underscores in the handles, and they repost items from the past, sometimes years old. If you spot this, please report, do not engage, and then block.

Pls boost.

My computer refuses to turn on.

I’m not at peace.

I find it concerning that Meta requires users to request to get credit for their own work.

Worse, you are only able to do this if you pay them for a blue check mark on your profile - and you have to pay for the 2nd tier. Even worse, you can only do this twice each month.

What is this? Doesn't YouTube just do this as part of the whole thing?

People should just get credit for their work.

(I really hope I'm just misunderstanding this.)

I’m not sure if it should be funny because of how real it feels…

Gotta say...

I kinda miss good old forums.

Instagram has an issue with @protonprivacy Mail, it seems.

I tried signing up for a new account for a project, but none of the confirmation codes they sent to the address worked.

When I tried a Geemail address, the first code they sent worked immediately!

As much as I would like to use Firefox more, the mobile version is rubbish.

I’d navigate away from any page and, even if I was away for but two seconds, the page will reload!

Really ruins the workflow.
