Europe has made big strides with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), but implementation hasn’t always been smooth.

For example, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are central to the EU’s energy efficiency policy, yet years after their introduction, challenges remain.

That’s why iEPB aims to transform how Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) assessments work, by introducing a common data model that connects and coordinates multiple certification schemes.

We are looking for an Intellectual Property Expert that will conduct an IP audit for the iEPB's Key Exploitable Results (KERs).

⚡ Today we celebrate the European Energy Efficiency Day 2025!

Upgrading the energy performance of the EU’s building stock is a key objective of iEPB. For this reason, together with ten EU-funded projects, iEPB is joining the #ZeroEnergyWasteEU campaign, launched by ICONS Innovation Strategies.

#iEPB_eu project actions and key exploitable results aim to be meaningful for stakeholders, and technically and financially viable. For this reason, three pilot ecosystems will be leveraged, ensuring the engagement of representatives from relevant agents and the involvement of key agents.

In this way, iEPB will build evidence for further exploitation at the EU level.

📆 Next week don't miss the “SRI Implementation in Member States – Policy support and tools from LIFE projects” event. It will take place in Brussels (and online) on 22 October 2025, 08:30–17:30 CEST.

The conference will bring policymakers, experts, and LIFE projects together to align SRI with Europe’s decarbonisation goals.

🙌 Last week, the iEPB partners gathered in Rotterdam for their annual General Assembly, hosted by ISSO.
Over two productive days, consortium members reviewed progress, shared knowledge, and mapped out next steps toward developing innovative tools for energy performance assessment across Europe.
