😈 A great project deserves great documentation. Jailrun is now live on its own domain: https://jail.run

We wanted the docs to feel as solid as the project itself, so the new site brings together everything you need to get started, explore examples, and dive into the full reference.

We love seeing community members share why FreeBSD matters to them.

Community member Stefano shares his experience and what keeps him choosing FreeBSD, from performance and reliability to the project’s philosophy.

Tell us in the comments: what makes FreeBSD your platform of choice?

#FreeBSD #OpenSource #BSD #Community

Rule of thumb for devs: mocks and monkey patching are a litmus test for smelly codebase composition. Acceptable at some I/O edges, unacceptable almost everywhere else.
SSE is finally a first-class citizen in FastAPI: https://fastapi.tiangolo.com/tutorial/server-sent-events/
Hopefully this gives SSE the same boost FastAPI once gave dependency injection, because it deserves a lot more attention.
#fastapi #sse #python
Server-Sent Events (SSE) - FastAPI

FastAPI framework, high performance, easy to learn, fast to code, ready for production

Let’s admit it: #uv has won.
We use uv for all our Python projects. Instead of the zoo of pip, pipx, poetry, and friends — let’s just use uv, ok?
Our READMEs now show uv as the only installation method. That doesn’t mean you can’t use something else. But… you probably shouldn’t.

uv is an extremely fast Python package and project manager, written in Rust.

😈 Jailrun 0.6.0 is out: bridged VNET jails, experimental #Yggdrasil mesh networking, and #FreeBSD host support. Big milestone!

😈 Jailrun is moving fast!

Our open-source project for orchestrating FreeBSD jails has just received a major update.

The latest version brings the kind of modern CLI experience you’d expect in 2026 — interactive shell, command autocomplete, and a polished look and feel.

Check it out 👉 https://github.com/hyphatech/jailrun

Thanks to the @FreeBSDFoundation for supporting the continued development of FreeBSD, and to the maintainers of #bastilleBSD, #ansible, #qemu, and #monit for the wonderful tools.
