Seemed like a good day to first wear my FreeBSD socks!

@sysosmaster @farooqkz openbsd removed bluetooth support at some point. It might work on freebsd depending on your hardware. WiFi updates are work in progress. The #freebsdfoundation has an overview of (laptop) projects at https://freebsdfoundation.org/our-work/projects

@nmott Haha, the #netbox is a workaround if you need the your wireless drivers to be speedy. Otherwise, the #FreeBSD #wireless drivers work just fine.

Also, there is the #FreeBSDFoundation is funding the further development of the native drivers:

Do you live in Guernsey?
Do you use FreeBSD?
Do you want to financially support its continued development?

If you answered 'yes' to all of these questions, then I have good news for you - the FreeBSD Foundation's payment provider have made some fixes so you can now donate from Guernsey!

You should also get in touch with me so that we can start a user group :-)

"The #FreeBSDFoundation is running a hardware support survey in order to help #FreeBSD users more easily identify hardware that provides good FreeBSD support. If you have experience that will help, please complete the survey:

This was posted on the freebsd-hackers list together with this additional comment: "Note that the survey asks for your email only in the event we have follow-up questions."

Which HW vendors have good FreeBSD support

A common question from FreeBSD users across desktop, server, and vendors is "which chips, NIC, etc. hardware makers consistently offer good FreeBSD support?" Good support includes things like offering FreeBSD drivers at or around the same time as other OSes, responding to questions and bug reports, and generally prioritizing the FreeBSD user experience. This form is a first step towards a shared knowledge base so that FreeBSD users can share their experience with one another. Each section lists vendors for certain HW types (CPU, GPU, NIC, etc.) and each section has the same two questions: Which of the following vendors have you used and found that they provide good to great FreeBSD support? Which vendors do you WISH provided good to great FreeBSD support? Note that some HW vendors offer products in more than one HW category, so they will be listed in each category in which they operate
