@gruber I think it’s only fair for you to serve yourself a helping of claim chowder. You pushed back hard on Gurman’s reporting of the front display of the Vision Pro, calling it goofy, a joke, googly eyes, Cylon mode, and impractical.

@atpfm @marcoarment it’s pretty simple to estimate the power draw from the battery size. It looks to be a 10 to 15,000 mAh battery, which are 3.7V cells, so it’s 37 to 55 Watt hours. With a 2.5 hour runtime, that’s 15-22 W average power draw. Quite low for all that hardware and processing. Impressive.

@rune THIS! I am not any kind of marginalized or discriminated against group. Yet I very much sympathize with those groups and I know that every assault on them is no better than an assault on me. I want to be informed. But the constant assault is exhausting and is affecting my mental health. I can’t imagine what it’s like for them.

@gruber I can’t believe GM is ditching CarPlay and Android Auto. Here’s a losing proposition: make a high cost product with little differentiation, take away a high demand feature that your own loyal customers are used to having, replace it with a worse product that introduces subscription fees whereas the better product was zero subscription. I predict GM’s sales will tank and they will scramble to add CarPlay back in.

Here's an uncomfortable American history fact. While folks often point out that after Jesse Owens won 4 gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Hitler refused to shake his hand.

But what happened next? Well, after returning home, Owens & 17 other Black Olympians were denied an invite to the White House. Instead, President Roosevelt only invited white Olympians. And it wasn't until 2016 that the White House finally apologized and invited their descendants to the WH.
