Mehr als ein Viertel der Österreicherinnen und Österreicher leben in einem gemeinsamen Haushalt mit ihren Eltern. Die meisten ziehen mit Mitte 20 aus, in der Altersgruppe darunter zeigte sich laut Daten der Statistik Austria von Montag in den letzten Jahren ein leicht steigender Trend zum „Hotel Mama“, aber nicht nur. In der Altersgruppe 44 plus nahm die Zahl der gemeinsamen Haushalte mit Eltern ebenfalls zu, noch viel stärker allerdings die der Alleinlebenden.
