Mercedes-Benz now has 4 partnerships related to maps. Part ownership of HERE. Part ownership of Luminar which acquired Civil Maps. Partnership with NVIDIA DRIVE for crowdsourced maps. Partnership with Google to use Maps for navigation and HD Maps for ADAS. Mercedes-Benz has some choices to make about their second generation active driving assistance systems. Which map, if any, will they be comfortable using to take liability away from the driver for automated driving? It sounds like NVIDIA.

Impressive active parking assistance (SAE J3016 L2). XPeng P7 Valet Parking Assist can slowly drive 0.5+ miles, with supervision, to a memorized parking space. Car checks for pedestrians & other obstacles.
Even though XPeng claims to need supervision, after 2 test runs I would be focused on my phone while the car parks itself. If I pay attention, I might as well speed it up by driving.
