Self-driving car companies often claim the lower accident rates for their vehicles is proof they are safer than human-operated cars. But I regularly see and read about Waymo taxis in Austin, Texas making dangerous maneuvers. My hypothesis is that Waymo vehicles have fewer accidents mostly because humans driving other vehicles do not trust them and are therefore hyper-defensive when around them. Am I wrong?
