*"no one ever got fired for choosing React"* is, AFAICT, not true today, and never has been.

I've witnessed entire teams get flushed and VPs get unceremoniously booted on the other side of grand React redesigns tanking revenue and conversions.

None of those folks talk publicly about how it went down because doing so would simultaneously devalue the thing they've invested in and hurt their own employability within that world. And so we bumble on, omerta in tact.

I've known three people who got COVID in the past two weeks. All of them posted photos of their events in the weeks leading up to their infection. Not one of them posted they had #COVID19.

I get tired of people saying "everyone's back to normal" and "I never hear of anyone sick." The social pressure for "normalcy" demands we share every crowded event and then hide our infections and illness.

If you're COVID-cautious, just realize you are not alone, no matter what your social media feeds show.

A project has started to build a #Fediverse #testsuite, so it becomes possible to systematically test interoperability between applications in the fediverse.

It is going to need some virtualization, to run "substantial" server-side applications for testing. So we'd like to know what development and virtualization platforms #ActivityPub developers develop and test on.
