When it's cloudy outside, you can always work with photos you've taken before. This is an image of the Horsehead Nebula that is composited of different images taken one year apart with different telescopes and cameras. #astrophotography #horseheadnebula
This week's astrophoto-effort. This the the Pleiades, also known as the "Seven Sisters".
Nearing the end of 2023. These are in my opinion the best #astrophotography images I produced this year. Looking forward to clear skies in 2024.
@barryzee Thanks
It is finaly astrophoto-season again and nice weather this weekend. Here is a photo of our close nabour the Andromeda galaxy. #astrophotography #space #andromeda

It is Galaxy Season! Here are two photos from this weekend. The first one is of M106 and its closest friends. The galaxy is more than 23 million light years from earth and has a very active super massive black hole in the center. The closeup on the wiki-page is spectacular. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_106

The second image is of Markarian's chain, eight galaxies that from earth looks like they form a band of galaxies. However there are more than 50 galaxies visible in the image. #astrophotography #astro

@jdlbt Thanks.
@HaveyDeckAstro I like the more wide field shots where you can find things in the background too. There is also one galaxy in the lower right hand corner (NGC 5422) that is about 100 million light-years away.
@HaveyDeckAstro Good eyes to spot that one. Yes, that is the galaxy NGC 5474. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_5474
