It's dawning on me more that I moved my base in Europe from Germany to Italy which means now learning Italian while at the same time keeping up with my German speaking skills!
My Italian skills are practically zero/A1 level thought I made attempts at trying to learn on-off!
8am-3pm: Work, meetings, you know the drill.
3pm to 8.30pm: Did a leather workshop with an Italian leather artisan in Sicily.
The artisanal practice of leather is waning - in terms of desire to make a living out of it - due to factors like consumerism, fast fashion, status worshipping, and logo obsession. But I am so inspired by his dedication and in wanting to teach others. Not only that, but we have now greater flexibility in coming up with ways to live our life.
Took a break from work due to a VDI issue and because of load shedding (planned power cuts) went out to an antique store and café.
I was thinking 🤔 of staying in but decided to head out. Glad I went out because I got to see baboons.
In South Africa they get city workers to stop by with paintball guns.
Imagine this: finishing a work day with #braai at Maiden's Cove with new friends, convincing the park attendant to let us stay an hour extra after closing time, then appreciating the sunset at Camps Bay. Also seeing a seal lazily sleeping in the sun!
After work day as a #digitalnomad
Was walking along the beach in #Mahajanga #Madagascar when I spotted a chameleon!
Previously I was tweeting about the concept of "#Malagasy time".
Example: Someone invited us to watch him play guitar "when the sun sets" instead of an actual time. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malagasy_language#Vocabulary - Sunset (lit. “Sun dead”) is "Maty masoandro" or 6pm in Malagasy.
