So my latest episode of COVERED is live! I interviewed Theodora Goss about her brilliant Gothic/Victorian monster mashup THE STRANGE CASE OF THE ALCHEMIST'S DAUGHTER https://hologramradio.org/covered/s4e5-theodora-goss-strange-case-alchemists-daughter
And I included a bonus mini-ep. of her 5 lessons learned while writing/publishing the book! Normally only for $5+ level Patreon patrons https://hologramradio.org/covered/s4e5a-bonus-theodora-goss-5-lessons-learned-writing-strange-case-alchemists-daughter
Synopsis: Author Theodora Goss discusses her Victorian/Gothic mashup, The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter, as well as why we keep revisiting the same monster stories, their hidden feminism, and the trials and tribulations of writing historical fiction. As a bonus for NaNoWriMo, Theodora’s “Five Lessons Learned” mini-episode, normally a perk only for Patreon members…
One thing I always do when I finish a book is upload it to Createspace and order one copy for myself. I never sell it, it's just a personal keepsake for my own shelves. I've done it four times and never got around to doing it for my last book.
Fixed that today. :)
I won a free 10-page critique from an agent, so I sent off the first 10 pages from my NaNo novel to see if I'm on the right track.
I've had my first 10 pages from my last book critiqued a dozen times, so I'm confident those are good.
Also had an agent tell me in her rejection she loved my descriptions, so that was bittersweet. Onward and upward.
Patrons of my podcast, COVERED, can listen to my interview with THE STRANGE CASE OF THE ALCHEMIST'S DAUGHTER author Theodora Goss today!
And if you pledge at the $5+ level, she'll share the five things she learned while writing/publishing the book in a bonus mini-episode! http://patreon.com/covered
Me: "I'm gonna get all the #NaNoWriMo words in today."
"Let's play a game, to help some of the newcomers make connections: name 5-7 things that interest you but aren't in your profile, as tags so they are searchable. Then boost this post or repeat its instructions so others know to do the same."

Editing the next episode of COVERED. My guest was Theodora Goss, the author of THE STRANGE CASE OF THE ALCHEMIST'S DAUGHTER and she was fantastic! Such a great conversation about Victorian/Gothic literature, famous monsters, and organizing/collecting research.
