@fsf Clarification for those that only read popular headlines. The EU Radio Lockdown Directive does not in any way specify that hardware makers should lock down their bootloaders. On the contrary, it specifically points out it should not be used as an excuse to do just that.
The baseband (radio) part of a mobile phone is protected by other means than the bootloader for the general OS, and has so been for many years.
