Today I’ve tied one of the droopier stems to a small metal rod, in order to hopefully keep it in a solid upright position.
The mix is still moist from how it was when packaged, just hopefully not too moist.
I’m leaving it outside in the shade for a while today to get it some solid humidity and outside time.
I’m attempting to revive this anthurium as my first step into gardening. Here I will list everything I have done, including the things I already know I’ve done wrong!
I’ve moved it from a 6” pot to a 10” pot, which I know is a bit high of a jump, but this is the only pot I could find at the store with decent drainage that would look OK indoors.
I’ve also moved it from a dense soil mixture to some Miracle-Gro Coarse Blend Orchid Potting Mix. I am already aware that this is a subpar solution for this particular plant, but I am keeping my fingers crossed it it will be better in the short-term. 🤞 Long-term, if this goes well, I plan to make my own mix for it.
I’m hoping the journey with this plant goes well, and if it does, this thread will continue with progress updates!
