I've updated my online interview transcription app.
➕ 10x faster
➕ All files stay on your Google Drive
➖ A little more complicated
➖ Doesn't work great with Safari

Once the audio and language models are loaded, the system produces a transcription with speaker labeling in approximately 15% of the time it takes to play the audio. So processing a ten-minute audio/video takes about 90 seconds.

I'm starting a collaborative effort to make the writings of W.E.B. Du Bois in The Crisis, the NAACP magazine he founded, more accessible. Want to help?

Between 1910 and 1934, Du Bois wrote over a thousand items for The Crisis on various topics.

The site is a work in progress, but we've already reprinted 200+, so please check it out.
