We have new #music out today!

'Carousel' was written with #piano genius Meg Morley.

The piece was originally written for our live score to the film 'People on Sunday' filmed in #Germany. We wanted the track to sound like we were emerging from a nightclub into the early morning streets of #Berlin. The artwork was taken through a vintage #kaleidoscope & put us in mind of stained glass/churches - The palace of the people! ✊️

How Does It Feel To Be Loved?
@Alexassassin this is a fantastic analogy!
@Alexassassin this place feels kinder! I hope it continues to be so. I'm not against the demise of social media in its current form (although it has brought some wonderful people into my life!)
I've had a few conversations this week where people have suggested that social media may have reached its 'peak'. Now, wouldn't that be a thing? I've been feeling the saturation and manipulation for a while. It all feels so at odds with music and art yet its power has seemed so inescapable. Perhaps not for much longer! It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
Testing out a mid 90s Warp #electronica sound palette for my generative #chess music using a classic game between Karpov amd Kasparov. For the drums the entire board effectively operates as an 8 instrument drum rack, while the individual pieces play #synths as usual.

@substandardnerd lovely photo! The thing with mushrooms is that the more you learn the less you know. Being an expert would take a lifetime of work!

I inherited a porcini patch this year when my friend moved to France. Very happy with this chonk I found in September.

Hello & thanks for making me feel so welcome here. As a keen Tw*tter user for many years, am still feeling my way in this new environment. I've been a radio presenter at BBC 6 Music since 2002 & have supported independent artists via BBC Introducing since 2007. I first became known as a songwriter when the Tom Robinson Band enjoyed brief UK chart success in the 1977-9 punk era. Also mild notoriety as vocal supporters of LGBT+ equality and Rock Against Racism. More info at http://tomrobinson.com
@lippykidmusic yes, I did! There's a great documentary on iPlayer at the moment called 'Truffle Hunters' which follows the only people on earth who know how to find a particularly rare truffle in Italy. It also dips into the societal impact of hunting and selling mushrooms. It really is artily done and very beautiful. Also: many dogs.
@yoreexplorers thanks. My camera reel is full of them at the moment!

Before #mushroom season is over I'd like to say how incredible they are. We have lots in the hills near us, all of the colours and all the scales of poison. The way they react to disturbances and the subsequent regrowth remind me of the tiny decisions we make as musicians in the moment and the patterns of unintentional coordination that emerge. I love them and their strange little ways.

Before things get too weird - see here some parrot waxcaps Gemma found the other day (edible/not palatable)
