Hacks/Hackers #Brisbane is the local chapter of an international grass roots #journalism organisation where journalists ("hacks") and technologists ("hackers") meet to discuss the future of media and the intersection of #technology and #storytelling more generally.

Let's chat #data, #stories and #code.

Posts here are mostly by @simon, but the whole organising crew is here: @antmandan, @thom & @rosieryan.

We're giving Humanitix a try for our next event (RSVP https://events.humanitix.com/tools-technologies-and-techniques-share-and-tell) but we're not 100% sold.

Coincidentally, if there's one you just love, please come and tell us about it in person next Wednesday. :-)

Tools, technologies and techniques share and tell, South Brisbane, Wed 3rd May 2023, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm AEST | Humanitix

Our next Hacks/Hackers Brisbane meetup is an opportunity for everyone to come together and share any interesting software tools and technologies they have used or discovered recently. Or to share any long-term trusted technologies that may be lesser known amongst the community.Whether you're a journalist, a developer, a designer, a data scientist, or anyone who is interested in the intersection of technology and journalism, this meetup is for you. We don't need you to prepare anything significant in advance - just be willing to give a quick 3-minute intro to the tool and how you are using it.This is a great chance to learn from your peers and discover new tools and techniques that you can apply to your own work. We'll have a projector set up that you can use if required, and we will leave plenty of time for networking and discussion, so come ready to share your insights and connect with like-minded individuals. So mark your calendar for Wednesday 3rd May, and join us for an evening of learning, sharing, and fun! We look forward to seeing you there.

A great group of people and a lively and enjoyable discussion on an absolutely gorgeous #Brisbane night.

Look out for our newsletter wrap of the event in case you missed it. It was also recorded, so we might have some video to share. https://quantsquills.com/newsletter

We had a really great final event of the year last night featuring the winning team from the ADM+S Dark Ads Hackathon.

They told us all about their project and where it might be headed next.
