as an establishment clause-loving USian, I was thinking about #religion and public life this Easter Monday

I'm always kinda scandalized by countries that have an official religion, where the liturgical year affects public accommodations, etc.

I found this Pew report on countries that have official or preferred religions, but it seems a little modest in its conclusions

anyone have good readings on religion and public life, esp in liberal democracies?

@mrgah You might also want to check out their sibling board games related project, which I really enjoy: ShutUpAndSitDown ;)

wait: CC licenses expire after you die, right, so your work is just in the public domain? or do the stipulations of CC licenses persist after death? (if so, when do those expire? ever?)

this seems like it should be both obvious and an easy thing to nail down, but I'm having trouble finding any good discussion of the question... is there a #librarian here who could enlighten me?

@jc Thanks! I knew about the Franch Minitel, which is somehow similar to this
@jc that seems interesting, where can I watch it?
@mrgah I am also suffering through js for a visualization.
My nÂș suggestion: use jquery, it makes everything so much easier.

Another podcast for my to-hear-list :D Thanks!

I am under the impression this is the case in most countries and I also find it reduces the complexity of political and economical discussion.

However, I am not aware of many important political parties that can be defined as liberals and not conservatives (maybe the FDP in Germany?)

#openacces

Could someone recommend something on open acces vs traditional editorial practices in academia?

Books, papers, news articles, anything. If it is from the last two years, better.
