@hackiechan also, I think the focus on happiness as a be-all, end-all goal only makes us more depressed. There are many other feeling tones that are less ephemeral than happiness, and we don’t focus on those enough.

I know we all love content creators, YouTubers and we all wait for their videos every week. I just stumbled upon one such account who was late to upload the video and people just started thrashing and abusing them. I just can't understand why? Why do we behave like this? When did we become so aggressive and impatient that we blurt out whatever we want without thinking about how the person in front would feel?

Centralised power structures are always going to be simpler to manage and use. Platforms like Facebook, Insta and twitter are designed to control your attention. So all of us are habituated to certain ways of using social media as opposed to others. Taking back the control of our attention and employing it in places that doesn't tell you where or what to look at, is going to be hard. But it's neccesary. This is going to require persistence, willingness to learn and adapt.
