#OUTLANDER fans: Because it's that time of year again.... Here's Julia LeBlanc's "Outlander 12 Days of Christmas". This was posted in 2019, so it doesn't include any scenes from Seasons 5 or 6, but I still think it's hilarious. If you like this, please boost/reblog so that more fans will see it. Thanks!

Finally read The Hunger Games — I’ve been wanting to since years! It’s quite an interesting read. One of the few books — after the #outlander series, which I finished last month — that hooked me right in!

In the south of Burkina Faso lies a small village called Tiébélé. It's home to the Kassena people; one of the oldest ethnic groups that settled in the region in the 15th century.

Tiébélé is known for their amazing traditional Gurunsi architecture and elaborately decorated walls of their homes.

Dating back to the 16th century, wall decorating has always been a community project done by the women.

My suggestion if you want the Fediverse to work, follow and favorite and boost the absolute hell out of people. It’s not about dopamine or clout chasing, it’s about letting people know they’re not just typing into a void.
Here's another exquisite bird - a Victoria Crowned Pigeon. I'd like to say I shot this in Guinea, but it was a very tame wee thing in the tropical dome at Chester Zoo. No stalking required. #Photography #WildlifePhotography

I hear new people noting how chill, tolerant, and pleasant Mastodon is.

Mastodon isn’t chill or tolerant or pleasant. It’s a tool… a foundation on which to create and maintain a culture.

It’s those who’ve been on Mastodon, run servers, and served as admins who did the hard work and created the culture you now enjoy.

Now, it’s your turn. The only way it stays tolerant and chill is by us doing the work to keep it that way.

A good example of, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Firoz Minar in Gaur ~
built by Saifuddin Firuz Shah (1488-90 AD), the second ruler of the Abbyssinian Slave dynasty.
It is 25.6m (84ft) high and comprises five storeys, the first three of which are decorated with chain motifs while the upper two are covered with parallel borders. On each floor there is a door which faces west and an internal staircase of 73 steps leads to the top. It was originally associated with an accompanying mosque that no longer survives.

Bad poetry alert! (Hopefully the art will make up for it!)

Snatches of conversation
swirl around her head
streaks of pink and violet and turquoise and grey
mixing together
as she reaches out —
to grab a phrase here
an exclamation there —
to pin them down
and examine them
to find some sense
of quietude
amid the roaring cacophony
in her head
