Happy #PrideMonth from the GTN! 🏳️‍🌈

The GTN has multiple themes¹ with which to show off your pride, you can try them out today!

we've also seen some screenshots from @zerodivision who got #UseGalaxy 23.1 running on the PocoF1 (aarch64/armv8), and managed to execute a job!

A whole new Galaxy for folks to explore, running their bioinformatics directly on their phones!

It could be a wonderful thing for regions that have high levels of access to mobiles. While large clusters will always be better for memory intensive tools, this could enable more field bioinformatics?

Great work @mtekman @zerodivision @galaxyproject 🎉

We're not sure if this is the Future of Compute at the Edge, but it sure might be!

@mtekman has managed to get @galaxyproject running in @postmarketOS on his old Alcatel Idol 347

Are you a dedicated #useGalaxy admin who only has their phone available? Now you can run Galaxy directly in your pocket thanks to more and more packages being available for ARM platforms, and advancements in Galaxy deployments.

@mtekman documented the process meticulously if you want to try 👉 https://gxy.io/GTN:N00069

🪐📲 Hosting Galaxy at the Edge: Directly in Your Pocket!

Hey Galaxy admins! Have you ever wanted to administer your own instance from the luxury of your pocket?

@ElectronicBlueberry @galaxyfreiburg she additionally showed a preview of the new workflow share page which also includes a PREVIEW button!

We cannot describe how excited we are for this, being able to embed previews of workflows in various places will be an incredible benefit!

We are SO excited for the upcoming Workflow Comments PR from @ElectronicBlueberry, months of incredible work!

Today at @galaxyfreiburg's European #UseGalaxy Days she presented the Center for Phage Technology's Phage Annotation Pipeline marked up by @hexylena (peep her cute phage!)

There are so many fantastic use cases for this like Workflow teaching, communication, and development and more!

If you have use cases or just want to read more about it, check it out here!

Have you ever been stuck, not knowing how to use a tool in #useGalaxy and wishing there was a dedicated #tutorial covering it? Something with clear guidance?

When you're looking at a tool in Galaxy just scroll down, for some tools you'll find a section of Tutorial's that cover that tool!

Thanks to @ElectronicBlueberry for implementing this feature and saving us all time!

Are your #training materials this #FAIR? 🧑‍🏫

We put a LOT of work into making our platform as Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable as possible via BioSchemas annotations, PURLs, external deposition, and more!

Lately we've also been expanding beyond #UseGalaxy and towards data science and more, anything that can be taught on @galaxyproject/Rstudio/Jupyter!

So if you want your materials to be FAIR, just add them to the @gtn!

FAQ: How does the GTN ensure our training materials are FAIR?

"In the past 60 months, 504 training events with over 24,000 learners have used this infrastructure for Galaxy training."

Wow! https://bio.tools/tiaas sure has become a critical part of the Galaxy Training path.

It's supported trainings around the entire world, on every continent¹ thanks to @unifreiburgRZ @galaxyfreiburg @AusBioCommons and @galaxyproject

¹ except Antarctica, if anyone wants to host a training there let us know 😉

A few weeks late for it's birthday, but TIaaS is finally properlly published!

Check out our publication in #GigaScience for how we built infrastructure supporting 24k learners over the last 5 years.

Authored by @hexylena and the amazing team of TIaaS Contributors and PIs supporting this work across three continents.

Happy fifth birthday to Training Infrastructure as a Service (TIaaS) that powers so many of our events in the past years! https://github.com/galaxyproject/tiaas2

Thank you to the Freiburg Galaxy Team @galaxyfreiburg @unifreiburgRZ, the US Galaxy team @galaxyproject, and the Australian Galaxy and French Galaxy teams for all being part of the TIaaS success story!

It is such an accomplishment that we provided infra for 24,000 students over the last 5 years.
