Software developer by day, insomniac by night.

@ancientsounds @hennavirkkunen Honestly, the EU Commission should just have their own Mastodon instance. Anyone still on Twitter should migrate to that.

Show us that they're willing to move towards tech sovereignty through proper actions, and not just empty words.

@mathias Alright, you have me convinced. Thank you for this very long and thoughtful response.

In my head, what I was thinking about mostly was the over decade long suppression of LGBTQ+ voices, where people have had to fight with an algorithm clearly biased against them. Stevie Boebi made a really good video about it three months back. Plus, just how easily people's livelihood can get ripped away by corporate greed.

But it's not all bad, there's some genuine niceness there, too.

@mathias My dude, you drop this spice, say that you can elaborate, and then don't.

I'd love to hear these thoughts 👉 👈

@PastelFurry @Ethical_Complainer I think the reason for this is less because cops here are overall good, and more because we're a tiny nation so statistically egregious overstepping and abuse happens less often.

But it happens.

Honestly, I think you'll find very few abusers that consider themselves to be immoral. I'm sure all the cops that beat up this man think they're good people.

The system failed in this case, and it was never rectified.

@dragonarchitect This is actually reasonable, and we all deserve a four day work week.

@jsit Safari's search engine options are rubbish. Can't believe we need to install extensions if we want one Apple hasn't deemed acceptable.

This might also be wrong, but I recall reading somewhere that the auto-suggestions as you type in the URL bar also come from Google no matter what engine you use.

@jimfl @soatok Thank you. Been toying around with the idea of starting a more serious project, but I've been uncertain about what language to select. JS is an option and since I'm unfamiliar with the rest of the stack, going with a language I'm decently confident in felt right.

You reminded me of why actually no let's not do that.

@janellecshane This was delightful. I recently took your book out of my bookshelf and flipped through the pages.

I miss the days when machine learning was this. Towers falling over finishlines, the latent space between daisies and samoyeds, training silly RNNs to generate utter nonsense.

Really upset with where things headed.

@cory hey you, hope all is well. I was wondering if you have a specific place for reporting potential bugs in Cadence?
@rootwyrm Are there any alternatives to CVE+CWE, or mirrors? Or are we really in a position where the U.S. government can effectively hamstring cybersecurity globally, because of malicious policies?
