“MAGA Takeover at MCASD” by Dan Grossman — Indy Correspondent

MAGA TAKEOVER AT MCASD Under normal circumstances, it was the last place in the world where I would have expected to see a MAGA-themed exhibition. But that’s what I encountered at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) in La Jolla yesterday. Nothing was normal now, of course, after MAGA

A factual account with identifying info redacted that should be apparent once you start reading. Tecate is so beautiful with its high hills and cafes and artists markets but so troubled. From my forthcoming poetry collection 'The Border is Bi." @therobburgessshow https://www.indycorrespondent.org/borderdiary/spiderman-in-tecate-baja-california
Spiderman in Tecate (Baja California) — Indy Correspondent

Spiderman in Tecate I won’t name the man I talked to in Wacky Joe’s* in Tecate, where I drank a Tecate, even though he revealed his name to me. This is because of what he said. I don’t mean the stuff he told me about the four dead migrants found on Tecate Peak a few weeks previously. I don’

“Nosedive, Baby, into Bono” by Dan Grossman — Indy Correspondent

Southwest flight 1467 had just taken off over Las Vegas and I had a window seat near the front. Unfortunately, we were experiencing severe turbulence. The Sphere was just below. The text on the glowing blue ball read Achtung Baby: Live at Sphere . That was because U2, one of my favorite groups, was

The Conflationists: Purveyors of the emerging far-right narrative on the U.S.-Mexico border | Essay

In spending time along the border as a volunteer and journalist, I found that some right-wing media personalities are less interested in learning about the root causes of the migration crisis than the attention they get from spreading reactionary rhetoric

What's the answer to the stovepiped silences here on Mastodon? Wish I didn't feel I was just pissing in the wind, as it were.
I'm republishing a book of poems titled 'Soft Corps' revolving around my experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa from 1992-1994.

Soft Corps

This newly revised book of poems, originally published in 2010, centered around my experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa. These poems deal with the volunteer experience, the experience of day-to-day village life, and the clash between the two. They are by turns, bawdy, sad, and as surreal as the Peace Corps experience itself. A number of these poems have been published in the following journals; pLopLop, INPOSSE, Five Fingers Review, Flying Island, Bathtub Gin. Others were published in Kilhohertz Country, a chapbook of poems published by GeekSpeak Unique Press--Dan Grossman
