Inspecting the captured MOV, the audio format reads MPEG-4 AAC, 48000 Hz 74.14 kbit/s mono. I have no idea if that is the codec moving audio from APP3 to iPhone and it is being re-encoded by Camera app, or not.

I also have AirPods Pro 1, and no matter what I'm doing APP1 is never presented as a mic option, even after using APP3 for this. (Darn!)

Conspiracy theory: Apple doesn't care about theft. Apple's security attachment on Display iPhones are only there so wobble can not be checked.

iPhone Air just HAD to protrude the camera further than the bump. Couldn't make them flush. Couldn't shorten the camera. Couldn't extend the bump. Because then what would the security attachment be for?
