I tried a lot harder this year to find new music. I’d stalled mostly just listening to things I picked up in 2015-2021. Grace Cummings came from a [mefi post](https://www.metafilter.com/203457/Grace-Cummings), Demon Hunters and Chapelle Roan from the zeitgeist. I listened to a _lot_ of Full Flower Moon Band in May and I’ve no idea where they came from. I think all the minutes I spent listening to [LoFi Girl](https://music.apple.com/au/playlist/lofi-girl-beats-to-relax-study-to/pl.bf7a3cbca49644d8a33f09c1285aef5c) may have been inspired by that [Waymo webcam]( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h53xlXu_6C4&pp=0gcJCR4Bo7VqN5tD ) that was doing numbers last year.

And just a lot of times defaulting to playing the algorithmic suggestions from my station playlist. I did a terrible job though of remembering the tracks I was favouriting and doing deep dives.

There is a line from the Cryptonomicon that I just keep coming back to time and time again.

No, I don't believe he believes those things. I think his actions tell you that in fact he actively works to bring about this thing he bullshits about.
