I study network structure and dynamics, focusing how to break a network most efficiently. Also some predictive analytics. Just another ex-physicist.

No business communications. Direct all work-related inquiries through official channels only.

@Tarah If Claude doesn't have the ability to provide an accurate estimate, you don't believe that Claude has the ability to present an accurate estimate, and you present its estimate without any indication this is unreliable, you're committing some journalistic sins that you certainly know not to.

(I agree, probably AI slop. Hopefully just written from bullet points, not fully slopped.)

@GossiTheDog I don't know you in person and I didn't know your brother, but it sounds like he was grateful to spend some time with you and he wanted to relate better to you. I'm sorry for your loss. I don't think he regretted that meal. I hope that you will not either.

@krypt3ia You'd make the strongest case with evidence against Trump from before Epstein's arrest. The man was an inveterate opportunist, and would sell his loyalty to- or against-Trump if he thought there was anything to be gained. After their falling out, he seems to suggest that he could say things to harm Trump's reputation if he gets something out of it, so this might be more of a parting shot/revenge attempt from the grave, if authentic.

Which isn't to say Trump wasn't aware of what Epstein did, wasn't friends with him, or wasn't predatory towards young women; just that this might not be the smoking gun I'd look for as an investigator or a prosecutor.

Any nerds out there want to start a journal club?
@Nonya_Bidniss It's not dumbed-down, it's written by AI.
@da_667 why is it always d-link
@Toxic_Flange No. Embrace modernity!
@Mer__edith Is there any chance of Signal adding its own keyboard in the future? The input system seems like a pretty important privacy concern at the moment.
@cR0w the attacks aren't new, but the more people you have trying something, the more thorough they collectively are. Lowers the odds any low-hanging fruit gets missed. If AI brings them up to medium skill, lowers the odds any medium-height fruit gets missed. It should change your threat model, but hopefully not introduce levels of sophistication you were previously unprepared for.
@cR0w but we agreed it depends on probability and impact, not just who's in it. If you change the probability lazy attackers get in or the impact of them doing so, you are changing the threat.
