Great how #JavaBubble has developed...
It started with a simple table in markdown and now it has its own domain with a list of people and different output formats.
Trying to soon pull my weight, setting up my own Mastodon instance in order to reduce load elsewhere. Almost there, just gotta figure out how to properly have Apache and Nginx coexist without disrupting my existing sites for too long.

blaineThe media has been reporting a lot on mastodon, but often reports as though mastodon is the fediverse. I saw a well-intentioned article today that the platform started six years ago, but this erases the immense amount of work that many put into ActivityPub.
Having done standards work myself and learning that I am unable to manage the immense social pressures of coordinating divergent goals and stay happy, my hat's off to the dedicated folks who made the fediverse happen.

@expertsleepers I think it depends on the Mastodon client that renders the toots, the iOS Toot! Client renders a small YouTube preview image and video description after it's been posted for me.
