My phone was stolen earlier this week. It took GOMO over 60 hours to activate my new sim. During this time, smart thieves could have potentially overwritten passwords and stolen my identity in numerous ways. We need legislation to force providers to take these threats seriously.

@susankayequinn Status games. It’s the aristocrats vs the nouveau riche. The proles have all the cash and the patricians have the history, status, tradition and connections to power. They’re also boyed up by the status of lit fic (despite the fact that within publishing it’s treated as a wretched necessity).

@ohmrun @garethstack @carapace It’s not the words themselves that are important, sure even the Greek polis were slave states. It’s just the acknowledgment that there are kinds of love unavailable to most in our current socioeconomic system of organisation.

I work in medical tech research, doing programming & electronics.

I'd love to stay in that field (particularly open source). I also love science & physics so some kind of cool research would be ideal.

I love prototyping & system design. I'm mostly a programmer and a "non-traditional" engineer. I love Arduino/microcontrollers and PCB design.
