DanielHey real talk, if your rental has been damaged and you ask for a rent abatement, there is a non-zero chance the property manager will simply serve you 7 days notice. This is, of course, illegal unless the building is officially considered unliveable, but they may do it anyway. You gonna go cry to the tribunal? And be unable to secure your next tenancy? Go fuck yourself.
