@jik nobody believes me, but triangulation fraud is a huge (albeit old and well-known) problem, especially w/ third party merchants and eBay. The seller doesn't have the item you want, but they advertise it like they do. When they get an order, they use a stolen credit card to pay for the item but have it shipped to you. You're happy b/c you got what you ordered, but the owner of the stolen card is left to dispute the charges.

Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon on the evening of 24 October.
It's near maximum brightness and moving farther from earth day by day. But it's still getting closer to the sun...getting warmer. The comet may fade slightly over the next week or two, but dust production may go up or the ion tail may become brighter. (Date of closest approach to the sun is 8 November, two weeks from now.)
Taken with a 135mm lens, APS-C camera, and barn door star tracker.
Absolutely fascinating new work just dropped that continues to validate my long-standing beef with Executive Functioning measures and my contention that we have a lot of measurement problems in all of the conventional stories about EF and group differences.
This is a technical one so buckle up if you want to read it but β¬οΈ

Authorities are now considering whether a falling object, possibly from space, caused damage to the windshield and frame on a United 737 MAX over Colorado on Thursday. Various reports that include watermarked photos of the damage suggest the plane was struck by a falling object not long after taking off from Denver for Los Angeles. [β¦]
