Possibly a silly question but what am I to do with the shield tab in this RJ45 module? Just wrap the drain wire around it?

Searching around for an example but not finding anything.

Nothing more disappointing than going to a repo for a project you like and seeing the mark of shame. *le sigh*

Only one commit in this case but still, disappointing.

Victory! Maybe. The new network cable has made it all the way upstairs, via under the house for some reason. I haven't tested it yet but... I'm sure it's fine :-)
Spotted the first bee of the year! Starting to feel a bit like spring at last.
Trying to put in a new network cable in the house and starting to think whomever originally wired this place up was a fan of M.C. Escher.

The SCART connector has many problems, but I forgive them all for it helping keep the horror that is S-Video from becoming widespread in Europe.

Is it going in the right way? Almost impossible to tell by feel.

Is the socket just tight or am I bending all the pins? Yes!

Sorry, the Tesco security cat needs to check your shopping basket (for cat food) #CatsOfMastodon
Yep there it is. These little capacitors contain an impressive amount of magic smoke.
I think I just had my first Rifa pyro incident with this Philips PALplus decoder. All the windows in the house are opened now to try and get rid of the smell. Ugh.

Huh, I've not seen this before:

'Despite common misconceptions, 0.999... is not "almost exactly 1" or "very, very nearly but not quite 1"; rather, "0.999..." and "1" represent exactly the same number. '
