Memory errors in consumer devices such as PCs and phones are not something you hear much about, yet they are probably one of the most common ways these machines fail.

I'll use this thread to explain how this happens, how it affects you and what you can do about it. But I'll also talk about how the industry failed to address it and how we must force them to, for the sake of sustainability. 🧵 1/17

Kommunalwahl #München: Wer die #Verkehrswende unterstützen möchte, möge den Kandidat:innen der Mobilitäts-Powerliste je drei Stimmen geben. 🚲👍

I’m excited to share a little project of mine: GoLight Energy - an iOS app for people in Europe who want to see how green their local electricity is! You can get it on the App Store today: https://apps.apple.com/app/golight-energy/id6755192452

It works like a traffic light:

🟢 Use energy when it’s green.

🔴 Hold off when it’s red.

A small shift in timing, such as when you cook or charge your car, can help increase renewable usage and reduce reliance on coal and gas.

Building this was a great chance to dive deeper into SwiftUI from the other side, exploring advanced scrolling APIs and designing with Liquid Glass!

Huge thanks to the team at Fraunhofer ISE behind Energy-Charts (@energy_charts_d). Their API powers the app, and their website (https://energy-charts.info) is fantastic for those interested in grid data and renewables!

Only 7 gasoline cars were sold in Norway last month. Seven! 98 diesel cars & 29 hybrids were also sold, but the rest were EVs. And this comes after Norway cut EV incentives. https://electrek.co/2026/02/03/even-after-cutting-ev-incentives-norway-only-sold-98-diesel-cars-in-january/
Even after cutting EV incentives, Norway only sold 98 diesel cars in January

Norway cut EV incentives, resulting in a rush and record sales. That would usually cause a hangover, but EVs still took 94% share in January.

This video is long but perfect at debunking all of the most common obstacles thrown in the path of renewable energies -- so, a must watch if if you are currently believing some of those. But even if you are not buying into any of those lies you should watch it, because the last 30 minutes, although out of character, have a powerful message. As one reply states: "When it's so bad, even your favorite dishwasher influencer has to speak up."

You are being misled about renewable energy technology.

Bugs Apple Loves

Bugs Apple won't fix. Why else would they keep them around for so long? We did the math.

Quite a phenomenal campaign ad from the Greens down in England. Strong. I firmly believe that any political party not running this same message will fail.

What if the land used to produce biofuels was used for solar panels instead? One quarter would suffice to power all vehicles world wide if they were electric. All of it would produce more than the current global electricity consumption. Fascinating thought experiment.

https://ourworldindata.org/biofuel-land-solar-electric-vehicles

Putting solar panels on land used for biofuels would produce enough electricity for all cars and trucks to go electric

The world dedicates a Poland-sized area of land to liquid biofuels. Is there a more efficient way to generate energy?
