We’ve just released NetNewsWire 7.0.4 for Mac. Do a Check for Updates or download it directly to get the update. The big new changes are to iCloud syncing: there’s a new setting to not sync the content of unread articles, since that’s the biggest part of your iCloud database and what takes the longest to sync. Another change is a new iCloud Storage Stats window that tells you exactly what’s in your iCloud storage — and it includes a Clean Up button that will trim down your storage (and lead to faster syncs in the future, though not necessarily right at first).

Ported it to https://metalsprockets.com…

Optimised it so it renders all text in a single draw call (from an original 40,000 draw calls…)

And then entered the matrix?

Every glyph is vector. Whoa.

(Code needs a cleanup - it got messy but will put it online soon)

I haven't seen this mentioned, and people are always asking about it, but my understanding of why Apple discontinued (PRODUCT)RED is that they were unhappy with the amount of money that was actually going to charitable causes. The number I heard floated was less than 10% was going to charity vs investors in 2022, the year Apple last released a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone. As I understand it, Apple now supports the charities directly instead.

Perhaps someday we'll get confirmation as to why it went away

I salvaged a few PowerBooks 520s in 2008, and it seemed remarkable to me at the time that they worked at all. They would power off after 30 seconds on battery, but just seeing them boot felt like opening a chamber in a pyramid. They were about as old an iPhone 5 is today. The passage of time is so cruel.

Do you use an iPhone? Update to 26.4 Go to general -> transfer reset -> reset -> reset dictionary They fixed an input lag bug and clearing all the bad habits it caused gives you back your old phone where spell checker worked and strange text replacement is gone.
