As the summer wanes, I find myself thinking about teaching. I’m mulling over a spring British Survey (1788-present) on mystery & detection. I have some ideas on fiction & essays, but also need to cover poetry & theatre in the various periods. Would love suggestions…
@awinters yup -- it's a salient reminder that we all have very different boundaries & tastes!

Results so far (across several platforms)
- many folks say crunch
(Applied to many systems including 5e)
- several name Paranoia
(I confess I love those sometimes)
- references to Bluebeard’s Bride
(one AP of it is doing the festival circuit)

Most surprising: no mentions of romantic/erotic systems.

@Craig many thanks for your thoughts!
@edmo yes, Friends is the gold standard for examples of this!

OK, I have a question for people who perform #TTRPG in actual play:

What game system would you absolutely love to play but would never, EVER want to play in front of an audience?

(Variant for audiences of AP: what system do you love to play but would NOT want to watch played?)

Tonight my 18th Century TTRPG group started a short run of Regency Cthulhu -- for many, the first experience with horror of any kind, or a mystery mechanic. I think their Keeper has survived, though she regrets not begging my former student London Carlisle to guest-Keep...
@Craig it's a very interesting example! I'm curious about lots of data points to contextualize the phenomenon.

Asking this question across platforms to see what turns up:

Seeking more examples in TTRPG Actual Play of PVP, heel turns, or any situation where players are working in opposition to one another (bonus points for sustained conflict between core members of a table rather than guests)

@carrideen I hope it is absolutely smooth!
