We once had a great deal of respect for good'ol Britain, home of Parliament, 'a model of democracy' if only at home.

They are more than slipping, they recently introduced a law on strikes so egregious the UN and the US had to issue statements decrying it, they recently introduced protest demonstrations that send people to jail for "showing up" and to jail, for years, not to lockup for a night.
