Random day in infosec
1. a "Red Teaming Cybersecurity Company" I've never heard of or interacted with sent us an email "Hey we know about a vuln in your infra" Told them I don't like beg bounties, but I certainly would like to know what they found (they could have just used our security.txt) Got an reply regarding the OpenSSH agent thingy from a couple month back. Had to explain that their tool obviously does not grok Debian and Ubuntu versions. βπ©β
2. $RANDOM EDR vendor cold call tells me they are number one in the world (obviously who isn't πβ) I tell them we just did a 3 year MDR/SOC deal. His reply "So you still need an EDR tool" π©β
I love my job but dealing with sales and marketing people AND staying friendly gets harder by the day.
