Regis are open for NLS - New Librarians Symposium. It’s lowish cost and on a weekend to try and make it more accessible, I had a sneak peak at the program yesterday and it’s legitimately good - but if you want to wait for that before registering keep an eye open next week :) https://alia.org.au/Web/Web/Events/Event_Display.aspx?EventKey=NLSXI

It's #blogjune time and I don't even have a blog this year. I felt like I needed a change, and when I got my blog hosting bill I decided I didn't want to keep things the way they were. So I downloaded all my data, deleted the blog. I've kept my URL but don't really have any ideas about what I might do next, if anything. Oh well. Ch-ch-changes...

Folks!

Intercultural Conversations: How Chinese is ‘Chinese Enough’? asks Klariz Chen.
Because being Chinese isn’t about how much DNA you carry, how fluent your Mandarin or Hokkien is, or whether you can recite every festival custom by heart. It’s not about percentages. It’s not about perfection. You’re Chinese enough the moment you care enough to ask.

The Canadian School Libraries statement in reply to Alberta's announcement is quite excellent.

Colour me amazed: advertised a study on the Perth subreddit and immediately got volunteers. So far 100% of these volunteers have turned up.
