This is a good, frank assessment of why Mastodon's popularity spiked and soon waned. It wasn't designed for new users in mind and the culture seems to prefer exclusivity over offering a proper alternative to mass social media.

@aapis there's quite a difference between the inherent violence of enforcing laws and the chaotic ideaologically venegeful violence of the French Revolution. The former is meant to protect the public. The latter leads to continental war and years of death.
