@GrimmReality I don't necessarily disagree with anyone in this thread, but I'll be the nerd who plays devil's advocate. When police departments receive threat intelligence that remotely resembles terrorism, they're authorized to send police marksmen to mitigate any threats. This includes any connection any person has to any designated terrorist group, to include the far-right ones.
Whether or not a marksman should have been sent is a matter of policy. While I think it's debatable whether or not a marksman was necessary at IU, I think it's safe to say that if you didn't have any connection to a domestic terrorist group, the marksman wasn't aiming at you. However, I can see that it is difficult to discern this as a protester. It's too easy to spin this into a story that doesn't fit the facts, so be careful out there.
