Folks, how painful is it to set up your own Mastodon instance and transfer there?

What I still find quite fascinating around here is how much infrastructure data is available around here. From live fire department data (https://sfdlive.com/stats/) over ferry and traffic information to the app to communicate with the school or daily stats for Gas and Power usage.

Or just https://data.seattle.gov/#powered-by-seattle-open-data.

The fact that both a pacific beach and several mountain ski resorts are only a 90 minute drive from here will never cease to amaze me. PNW is truly beautiful.
