@kyle yeah it turns out after I noticed yours showing as deleted, I got notices that other messages of mine were deleted. None of which was true. So I guess just some general Mastodon weirdness.

@kyle a blessing for sure.

I saw you deleted this reply earlier and was mildly offended that you would remove such a scathing takedown of me. What am I not worthy of ridicule?

@kyle I’ve gotten rejected for not having enough functionality. I know Apple, that’s why it’s a test build, not publicly available!

A local friend of mine has been working on a new macOS app to help you manage your iPod: https://podcenter.app

No more Finder, no more iTunes…

PodCenter - Your iPod Command Center

PodCenter is the modern command center for classic iPods and Finder-based devices. Sync, convert, and organize your music library with complete transparency.

@mnl I do find it interesting that people have decided to use the pejorative “clanker” for AI systems. I’m reminded of the use of “canner” in a similar fashion in the movie I, Robot. As in can-opener.

It’s very natural I think for humans of all cultures to invent or use words pejoratively to deride people, things, and ideas they don’t like. Seems only natural that as computer systems get more “personality” that some would call them by a particular name as well.

@jeremie The last Android app I submitted in late January took over a week to be approved. I was super surprised being mostly an iOS dev. I had thought Google Play review was famously much faster than App Review. I guess not anymore.
I get a dozen emails a day from developers scammed by an impersonator promising to feature their app in a video on my channel. Been going on for months and Google can’t seem to stop it.

I respond to every email + DM, but now I’m going to try and share the apps and developers to hopefully give them some free publicity.

These are all small developers trying to get eyes on their app. Many fell victim to the scam and lost $100. They’re all very gracious and understanding, but screw the scammers:
@mnl I always thought it was interesting when a professor would tell the class they could use their notes, book, calculator, etc to take their exam. They wrote questions you can’t just recall and write down.
