The French system looks fancy, but in matter of capacity and density of service it's not the same league as German railways, no matter how fast the TGVs from and to Paris are.

Meanwhile, none of them explains that in Germany, every day, 40 000 trains run over all the country, why in France, it's not even half the amount - it's only 15 000 - and that includes RER in Paris. So there is no capacity, no frequency - only fast TGVs, a handful regional trains - some even with mandatory reservation, while everyone else takes the car.
