This is why we can't have nice things.
"This isn't who we are," say lots of Britons as protestors are arrested, while ex-colonies look directly into the camera.
no no, let's hear out the royalist on this excellent idea

An absolutely beautiful story from the Dublin Inquirer on the effect two little public sculptures, secretly installed by a railway bridge, have had on a community.

In the south inner-city, unauthorised sculptures of a cat and a rat stare each other down

First came the rat. Then, “A lad who lives around the corner had a cat, and it was his pride and joy, and it was suggested he do a cat.”

#IDoNotConsent to Facial Recognition Technology

The government of Ireland is seeking to give facial recognition technology to Gardaí, posing extreme risks to our rights, including our right to equality and non-discrimination.

If you object to this, please sign and share the ICCL's petition to tell the Minister for Justice you do not consent:

The more people who sign, the more compelling the case before the Minister.

I feel like it's time to recognise that the two historical communities in NI are not, in fact, "very different". They are very the same and people have been carrying on like they are the first to discover this earth-shattering revelation for decades at this point

A thing I've noticed with all the #BA25 / #GFA25 stuff is they will have two people on a panel, one Catholic/Nationalist and the other Protestant/Unionist, and they will described as coming from "very different backgrounds", but the only difference is their favourite flag, and the particular strain of Christianity. You then often here "despite this, they had remarkably similar experiences".

Like despite what though? Of COURSE it was similar
