CSS Panjandrum. “Kind and yet ruthless” co-chair of the CSSWG. Lurker on social media.

I’m excited to share a new project from Adobe Spectrum Web Eng that tracks support for #CSS features within and across the shadow DOM. Think “CanIUse” but for CSS for web components.

The goal is to surface how modern CSS behaves when light and shadow DOM contexts meet, providing visibility into feature parity, usage details, and outstanding issues and bugs. We hope it’s a useful resource for the web components community, and we’d love your feedback and contributions!

I am a luddite and to me there is a lot of joy in technology. In technology that we deploy for all our wellbeing. Solar panels and vaccines, high-speed rail and wikipedia.

But they joy stems from the feeling of being able to be part of humanity in an embedded, meaningful way. Not from buying shit.

@mia @w3c The “agggggggggggh” thread just below is also gone, and now I want to know what that was about.

Starting the new year off with two opportunities to come work with me at Adobe!

Both roles are working on our upcoming Project Graph app: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2025/11/25/introducing-project-graph-creative-workflows-reimagined

I have two roles available right now, more to come later I hope. Both Typescript, one more on the frontend side and another more on the tooling but with a strong frontend JS focus.

We're a #webcomponents project, and heavily into using the latest and greatest from the platform.

Details in🧵 below...

Project Graph is Adobe’s new visual, node-based creative system that lets you design, connect, and share AI-powered workflows across Creative Cloud—giving creators real control, flexibility, and authorship in the age of generative AI.

Happy holidays, fediverse!

I got you a megathrust earthquake, soil liquefaction, spine-tingling papers about the way our networks confound knowledge, and a PDF in a pear tree. It's my wrap on a year of trying to make sense of how we make sense of what's happening to us.

Landslide; a ghost story

On March 27, 1964, a converted liberty ship named the SS Chena brought a shipment of supplies to the port of Valdez, Alaska. Valdez, which I need you to know is pronounced “valDEEZ,” sits at the end of a fjord—a narrow inlet carved by a glacier.

Imagine being in a department store that sells clothes from multiple brands and having a personal shopping assistant to help you select the clothes you want to buy. As a blind person, that's about the only way it's possible to go clothes shopping, independently at least, but few stores offer such a service, so you resort to shopping online.
