"Data product" is science language for a processed dataset that is organised, checked and ready for sharing. This announcement from the USA's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration means they're ending snow/ice data sharing. Globally critical data streams on the polar regions will just stop.
And this is Ralph Keeling himself talking about the implications of NOAA being effectively shut down on global monitoring of CO2. Note that it's the global intercalibration of sensors that is at stake, not just someone making a measurement somewhere.

Open call for freelancers: I’m looking for a Concept Artist to help me shape the atmosphere and the global mood of the game I’m working on.
“Lost in a surreal and strange maze where nothing really makes sense in the way that we know it…”
Attached to this tweet, you’ll find some artworks that capture the overall direction of where the game is heading right now.
If interested, write me an email with your portfolio at [email protected] thanks!
Otherwise, boost appreciated! #gamedev #indiegame
Did you know the W3C published Ethical Principles for how the web should work?
https://www.w3.org/TR/ethical-web-principles/
I find them so inspiring. And they guide what developers should be doing, too.
“The web should empower an equitable, informed and interconnected society. It has been, and should continue to be, designed to enable communication and knowledge-sharing for everyone… we need to consider the ethical implications of our work when we build web technologies, applications, and sites.”
The web should be a platform that helps people and provides a positive social benefit. As we continue to evolve the web platform, we must therefore consider the consequences of our work. The following document sets out ethical principles that will drive W3C's continuing work in this direction.
“When people want to listen to music they go to Spotify. When people want to study sound recordings as they were originally created, they go to libraries like the Internet Archive. Both are needed. There shouldn’t be conflict here.” - @brewsterkahle
