On May 13, 1950, 75 years ago, the Italian driver Nino Farina won the British GP in Silverstone.
It was the first race of the first Formula 1 World Championship.
Completing the podium also were the Italian Luigi Fagioli, in second place, and the British Reg Parnell, in third. All of them drove Alfa Romeo cars.

Astounding vol. 12, no. 1 (March 1933)
I have had a couple of drinks by this point and would love someone to explain this to me. Are the people being shot out or pulled in? The word "salvage" implies the latter but those beams are just appearing through the sides of the ship? Lots of colour here, but it's not helping.
