This is a composite of two side-by-side images, each captured with the Rodenstock 50mm/4.0 HR Digaron-W lens (@ f/5.6), shifted left and right +/- 12mm to produce a 205MP 2:1 aspect ratio final image.

The Ravenswood plant, along the East River in Long Island City/Astoria Queens, was built by Con Ed in stages during the early- and mid- 1960's. When finished, it had capacity for about 20% of NYC's electricity demand at the time, as well as producing co-generated steam for the city's steam loop.

Captured with the Rodenstock 50mm Digaron lens and about 13mm of vertical shift to maintain the geometry (but several architectural features - setbacks and tapers in the building design - still make it appear to converge toward the top).

Pittsburgh's 42 story "Cathedral of Learning" houses offices and classrooms for the University of Pittsburgh. Completed in 1937, it took 11 years to construct. It remains the tallest academic building in the US.

The lobby is also gorgeous, and worth a visit.

It is astounding to me that the @[email protected] , which has had to run nearly identical corrections multiple times regarding how it misrepresented Section 230... has run yet another oped that misrepresents Section 230. This is embarrassing. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/14/o...
