🧵 🆕 The European Parliament has overwhelmingly adopted a resolution related to the recent #Qatargate corruption scandal and the need for more transparency and accountability in European institutions.

‼️ MEPs decided to suspend "all work on legislative files relating to #Qatar, particularly visa liberalisation, the EU aviation agreement with 🇶🇦 and planned visits, until the allegation have either been confirmed or dismissed."

The vote will be on Thursday 15 December.

🧵 📣 The EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana, Albania has started.

In the presence of Charles Michel, Ursula von der Leyen and the region's leaders, telecom operators signed a roaming declaration that will enable the reduction of roaming charges between the EU and #WesternBalkans.

💡This is the first-ever summit between 🇪🇺 and the leaders of #WB6 (🇦🇱 🇲🇰 🇲🇪 🇷🇸 🇽🇰 🇧🇦) which takes place in the Western Balkan region.

‼️ 🆕 The European Parliament has adopted a resolution declaring 🇷🇺 #Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.

MEPs called for the comprehensive international isolation of the Kremlin.

"As the EU currently cannot officially designate states as sponsors of terrorism, Parliament calls on the EU and its member states to put in place the proper legal framework..."

MEPs also called to include the Wagner Group and the 141st Special Motorized Regiment (known as the Kadyrovites) on the EU’s terrorist list.
