NIST turns to IT consultants to clear National Vulnerability Database backlog
🤔
"According to the agency's statement last week, it hopes to reach its pre-February processing rate of CVEs within the next few months. NIST predicted it should be caught up and back to processing current CVEs by the end of the fiscal year."
💀
@gamingonlinux many folks are quite confused about this :(
I just uploaded the slides from my talk at @everythingopen (EO2024) this morning:
https://embeddedor.com/slides/2024/eo/eo2024.pdf (pdf).
This is an update to my presentation of last year @KernelRecipes, titled "Gaining bounds-checking on trailing arrays in the upstream Linux kernel"
In this up-to-date version, I talk about some of the strategies I'm following to fix thousands of -Wflex-array-member-not-at-end warnings, and enable this option in mainline.
I hope people find them useful. Thank you all. 🙂🐧👨🏽💻

Upgrading to Ubuntu Asahi 24.04 Noble Numbat is now running smoothly 🥳
See instructions on: https://github.com/UbuntuAsahi/ubuntu-asahi/issues/112#issuecomment-2082281936
With 24.04 we now include upstream's OpenGL 4.6 Mesa drivers and a 6.8 kernel.
Images to freshly install 24.04 are coming soon.
Many thanks to all the folks who helped smooth out the upgrade process over the last week on our irc server 🙏
